This masterclass and workshop is ideally suited to experienced printmakers who would like to extend their practice with relief prints and artists’ books under the guidance of award winning artist Dianne Fogwell.
Learn the basics of etching. Produce an image on a zinc plate, explore aquatints, wax pencil and colour. Come along with an idea or a simple drawing and explore the process of producing a small edition. Suitable for all levels.
Make Cyanotype prints and extend them further with toning techniques.
Explore and learn the use of photopolymer printing plates in combination with digital photography to create Photogravure etchings.
Learn how to achieve rich tone, texture and/or very strong colour applying carborundum grit and PVA glue on an acetate plate. Drypoint lines can be combined with the carborundum grit. Dry point is the most direct form of intaglio printing, where a sharp point is used to scratch a mark directly into a metal, perspex or (in our case) acetate plate.
