Self Funded Artist Residencies at the Baldessin Press & Studio
The Baldessin Press & Studio is a professional printmaking studio located in St Andrews, Victoria. We are approximately 50 minutes from Melbourne, Australia. In addition to our fully functioning print workshop, we have three on-site accommodation options for visiting artists to stay in.
The Baldessin Press & Studio welcome applications for our self-funded artist residencies year round, and there is are no particular time frames set. Please contact us to discuss your project & requirements!

It is expected that residents will bring their own art materials. Baldessin Studio has a stock of materials available for purchase but please check with us beforehand to make sure we can provide what you need. (For more information on our presses and equipment please see Studio Access).
Artists in Residence are self directed and it is expected that you have a sound knowledge and experience in printmaking so that you can work on your own. We can however also provide you with technical assistance if needed. (For more information please see Studio Access).
A full studio OH&S induction will be carried out upon your arrival.
Studio Fees & Charges:
Access Fees $60 per day - All studio access users pay an access fee that covers use of printmaking equipment $60 per day.
OH&S Induction $85 – All NEW studio users are required to undertake a full studio OHS and studio protocol induction prior to using the studio.
Technical assistance $85 per hour – by arrangement if you require technical support to refresh your skills, provide post-workshop support.
One-on-one tuition $450 per day – by arrangement if you want individual tuition from a printmaker who is skilled in the technique you want to explore.
Materials - Basic printmaking materials are available for sale. Please get in touch for more information.
Creative Retreat Package
Book yourself in for a creative retreat with 5 days in the studio and 4 nights in our peaceful Garrett accommodation. Artists can use this time for their own projects, and work in the studio from Monday to Friday. We can also organise technical support and tuition in addition to your retreat. Completion of an OH&S session is required, but if you have not been here before we arrange for an induction upon your arrival.
The Creative Retreat Package is subject to availability and can only be booked Monday - Friday.
