Studio Access
Our Access hours are Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday from 9.30am – 5pm (or by appointment).
Weekend Studio Access is available by arrangement only.
Studio Access allows artists to work on their own printmaking projects in the company of others. While technical assistance may be available, it is not included as part of general studio access. If you require assistance, please advise us at the time of booking so arrangements can be discussed.
Printmaking experience is essential when using our etching presses. If you do not have experience using a press, you will need to book in Technical Assistance (available per hour or per day). Artists are required to bring their own materials and lunch.
Artists will need to book and complete an OH&S Induction in order to use the workshop.
Access Fees
In addition to use of a press, your Studio Access booking includes the following shared materials for use:
newsprint, rags, low-toxic cleaning solvents (where possible), scrapers and palette knives, rollers and brayers, kitchen facilities, and tea and coffee.
Studio Access (per day) – $80
This also covers the use of printmaking equipment, including:
– Presses and blankets
– Rollers
– Drying racks
– Printers and exposure units (where applicable i.e. for Photogravure & Cyanotype techniques)
– Flattening bats/boards
– Shared cleaning supplies
The entire studio may be booked for exclusive use, subject to availability and the scale of your project. This includes access to all three presses and all equipment listed above. Please contact us to discuss your project and availability.

Other Fees
Studio Ink Use
We recommend that you bring your own inks with you, however we do offer the use of our Studio Inks for an daily fee. This gives you access to a generous range of studio inks across multiple types and some colours.

OH&S Induction
If you are new to the studio, you must complete an OH&S induction prior to using the facilities. This induction only needs to be completed once and may be undertaken at the beginning of your studio access day.
OH&S Induction Fee – $93.50
Technical Assistance & Tuition
Available by arrangement for skill refreshment, post-workshop support & technical guidance. Book individual tuition with one of our experienced printmakers in the technique you wish to explore.
Technical Assistance — $93.50 per hour or $545 per day

We stock a select range of basic printmaking materials available for purchase, which includes:
– A limited range of premium printmaking and chine collé papers
– Tarlatan and Akua Wiping fabrics
– Inkjet papers
– Photopolymer Photogravure Plates
– Tissue Paper
– Hard and Soft Grounds
- Edinburgh Etch or Copper Sulphate acids
– A selection of etching, relief & lithographic inks
