Nillumbik Artist in Residence Program

The Nillumbik Artist in Residence Program creates artist residencies for local creatives and creatives with a strong connection to Nillumbik.
This program allows artists to explore their practice in an environment removed from the distractions of everyday life, connect to the Nillumbik community and develop Nillumbik-inspired work.
The residency offers the successful artist:
an artist stipend plus payment for public arts-based sessions if applicable.
an artist-in-residence space
orientation and induction
creative support
promotion.
24 access days between 22nd September 2026 and 30th June 2027
Open to printmakers and visual artists incorporating printmaking processes into their practice.

“Last year I was incredibly fortunate to be awarded the Nillumbik Artist Residency at Baldessin Press. While I was there, I was able to create a series of monotypes with the guidance of the expert staff on site and the world-class printing equipment. I experimented with various mediums, resulting in a body of work that led my practice in a new and exciting direction. The residency greatly broadened my understanding of printmaking and I feel privileged to have been given the opportunity. “ – Brendan Huntley
