Artist Statement
Currents Held in Copper emerges slowly from a plate marked through mezzotint. Into that field, sugar lift introduces ripples as gesture: droplets drawn, dissolved and revealed. The surface suggests water, but also what moves beneath it—life, memory and ancient pathways. Eels remain unseen yet present, carried in ideas of flow, endurance and return. Each stage demands repetition, attention and care, resisting haste. The work listens to water, Country, memory and belonging. It is an offering of attention: a reminder that life endures through connection, movement and relationship—and through our willingness to notice, to remain present and to listen more deeply.

Lisa Jackson Pulver (b.1959) is a printmaker and keeper of quiet marks. Her practice moves through time, memory and place, where belonging emerges through process, material and attention. Her books and prints are held in public and private collections. She creates sensory-diverse works that invite encounters through both sight and touch.
