I first came to Baldessin Studio to learn polymer photogravure with Silvi as a retirement gift from RMIT. The first small print I made was an image of a rainforest and included chine collé—I was captivated with the process. On my way home to Gippsland from the Baldessin Studio  picnic this year I walked to the giant Ada tree towering over the rainforest of the Yarra State Forest. The Path, evolved from a photograph I took at the beginning of the track to the tree and refers to my first photogravure print and involvement with Baldessin Studio.

Lesley Duxbury (b.1950) is a Gippsland-based artist whose work includes printmaking and photography. She has exhibited in solo, and group shows in Australia, Korea, Austria and Hong Kong and undertaken artist residencies in Iceland, and the Australia Council Studio Paris. Her work is held in all major public collections in Australia.
