Artist Statement
This stone lithograph originates from a rainforest creek near my home, drawing on the relationships between geology, water and movement that shape the landscape. Tracing the creek from the base of a cascading waterfall, the work follows the rhythms of ecological systems, where river stones, flowing water, and tangled liana vines form a network of connection and exchange. This is a living process of continual transformation, where moments of clarity unfold through patient engagement with the landscape. I first came to Baldessin Studio after Silvi invited me to introduce plate lithography to the studio. It was a privilege to teach and work in such a magical place immersed in the natural environment.

Danielle Creenaune (b. 1974) Danielle Creenaune (b. 1974) is an Australian artist working across printmaking and drawing, specialising inlithography. Her practice is concerned with landscape, ecology, memory, and lived experience. After 18 years inBarcelona and London, she returned to Wollongong on Dharawal Country in 2019.

Danielle Creenaune is represented by Australian Galleries, Melbourne and Sydney.

To mark its 25th year, Baldessin Studio has embarked on a very special project—inviting 53 members of its community to create an editionable print for the Baldessin Studio 25th Anniversary Print Collection. Launching at Sydney Contemporary, the collection is a celebration of the incredible community of artists who engage in the life of the studio, as well as a fundraiser to ensure the organisation can continue its work and sustain its vision, “to inspire and enable innovative printmaking whilst upholding the Baldessin ethic of fostering creativity in all forms”.
