August Carpenter uses a drawing and print-based practice to examine interactions between person and place. Her built landscapes are familiar yet foreign, exploring and challenging perceived environments, recollection and emotion. KATE shearer - volunteer

I discovered Baldessin Studio in early 2018. My initial introduction was for the purpose of exploring and furthering my own creative practice. Fortuitously, I also discovered the inviting and embracing community that is the fibre and strength of the Studio.

As a volunteer I enjoy working collaboratively, and value the opportunity and exchange of ideas. I was involved in assisting with the organising and staging of the Baldessin exhibition in 2019 as well as the coming 2022 exhibition at Montsalvat. The intermittent working bees at the Studio provide a valuable opportunity to meet other liked minded volunteers.
