This one-day workshop will cover the foundation of basic photography skills and help you understand how to use your camera to achieve your vision.
Topics covered:
· Understanding your histogram and why it’s important
· The advantages of shooting RAW
· Exposure triangle (aperture, speed, iso)
· Best camera settings for your desired outcome
· Tripod or no tripod
· Read the light and learn to manipulate it
· Basic editing in Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop
What will we do during this one day workshop:
We will set up a simple, natural daylight, table top still-life to photograph. You will be taken through how to set up your camera, how to manipulate the light, and the various options to achieve different ‘looks’ in your photos. The skills you learn during this exercise can be transferred to any other photography situation.
We will then download our photos and take them through the basic editing process in Adobe Photoshop or Lightroom.
The final part of the day will be a simple demonstration on the possibilities of fine art printing.
You will take home a print from your still life image along with a whole lot of new or refreshed knowledge to help you get much more from your photography.
What you need to bring:
1. Your camera (any camera will do as long as it has some manual setting options)
2. Your tripod
3. Your camera cable release
4. Your laptop (with charger, usb, etc..)
5. Some items for the table top still-life
6. A folio to take home your print (A3 size)
